The University is a comprehensive university affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention offering bachelors, masters, and doctorate degrees. Located on approximately 387 acres in the upstate region of South Carolina near the foothills of the Appalachians, the University features a rigorous education in a supportive Christian atmosphere. The main sources of revenue are tuition, fee, and auxiliary enterprise income as well as contributions from the public. ACADEMIC PROGRAM The Organization offers 62 baccalaureate majors, 39 major-embedded concentrations, as well as 48 minors and three undergraduate certificates. The Organization also offers 15 master degrees and 7 graduate certificate programs in the fields of business, Christian studies, criminal justice, education, music education, nursing, and pathology. At the post-master's level, the Organization offers an Ed.S. in Educational Systems Administration and 8 doctoral programs: Doctor of Ministry (two), Doctor of Nursing Practice, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Doctor of Philosophy in Leadership, Doctor of Philosophy in Preaching, and Doctor of Education (two). HIGHLIGHTS OF THE 2022-2023 FISCAL YEAR Anderson University Receives Highest U.S. News & World Report Rank in its History - The University is the 26th best institution of higher learning in the south after rising 18 spots in the latest rankings published by U.S. News & World Report In addition, the University is ranked #18 among "Best Value Schools" as U.S. News & World Report released the 2022-2023 edition. Anderson University Again Named to The Great Colleges to Work For Honor Roll - For the 2022-2023 academic year, The Great Colleges to Work For program placed the University on its Honor Roll-it is one of only two institutions of higher education in South Carolina to receive that designation-as the University was lauded in all 10 of The Great Colleges to Work For recognition categories. Anderson University Celebrates Highest Enrollment in its 111-Year History - The University's enrollment for the 2022-2023 academic year stands at 4,117 students, the largest student body since the University welcomed its first class in 1911 and solidifying the University's status as the largest private university in South Carolina. In addition, the University saw its highest number of freshmen and transfer students, with 906 first-time students enrolling this year. Anderson University Online Programs Ranked in Six Categories by U.S. News & World Report - The University has the best online criminal justice program in South Carolina, according to U.S. News & World Report's Best Online Programs rankings for 2023. The University appeared in six categories in the annual list made up of all colleges and universities in the nation. Other Program Revenue that includes but is not limited to commissions from sales of student related items, Perkins debt service, ticket sales for athletic and theatre events, and magazine subscription revenue.
Auxiliary enterprise revenue: Auxiliary enterprises exist to furnish goods or services to students, faculty, staff, or incidentally to the general public. Fees charged for auxiliary enterprises are priced to offset the cost of the goods or services provided. The distinguishing characteristic of auxiliary enterprises is that they are managed as an essentially self-supporting activity. Revenues and expenses from auxiliary enterprises are reported as changes in net assets without donor restrictions.
