Program areas at NASW
Policy/program:- developed and implemented four task forces for the revision of practice standards in clinical Social work, long term care, school Social work, and palliative and end of life care- participated in over 50 coalitions and stakeholder groups- represented nasw and the Social work profession in multidisciplinary workgroups working on National coding process to develop new and revised codes for reimbursement as well as review of reimbursement values- provided technical assistance to members, employers, and chapters- held the 2022 National conference, first in-person conference in four years- delivered over 70,000 hours of training, live and on-demand, through the nasw ce institute- provided input on numerous congressional bills and regulatory proposals- nasw's advocacy in coalition with other organizations yielded significant reforms to the public service loan forgiveness (pslf) program through implementation of a pslf waiver- advanced the improving access to mental health act by obtaining additional co-sponsors in the 117th congress and 2 of 3 provisions were included in senate finance committee workforce draft legislation.
Nasw press:- publication of five scholarly journals, published quarterly: Social work (flagship journal of nasw); children and schools; health and Social work; Social work abstracts; and Social work researchpublished six new books, print and e-book:1. Member engagement:- service more than 120,000 Social Workers and Social work students with quality National and state-based programming. - produced six digital issues of Social work advocates magazine, expanding online access to nasw content.- "Social work podcast" with over 1.1 million unique downloads.- expanded weekly use of mynasw, members only community platform with more than 59,000 discussion archives.- enrolled 36,000 members in auto-renewal for dues payments- served 1,999 members with resources to help manage student debt in the savi tool- maintained average open rate of 58% for weekly memberlink e-newsletter for all members- 2.5 million unique visitors to socialworkers.org- coordinated annual Social work month campaign: the time is right for Social work
