Program areas at Sonoma Valley Mentoring Alliance
School Based Mentoring - Sonoma Valley Mentoring Alliance maintained eight mentoring centers located on public school campuses in the Sonoma Valley Unified School District (5 elementary schools, 2 middle schools and 1 high school). These centers provide oversight and assistance to our one-on-one mentoring matches between an adult mentor and a youth mentee (grades K-12) during the nine months of the school year. In the year ended June 30, 2023, these centers provided services to approximately 325 mentor-mentee matches.
Scholarship Program - This program is available to mentees in our program who are seniors in high school. The program offers partial scholarships to those who are enrolled to those who are enrolled in two or four year college programs or trade schools. In the year ended June 30, 2023, 13 high school mentees were served by this program.
Road Map to Your Future Programs - These activities provide opportunities for our mentor-mentee matches to experience off-campus activities, including culinary classes and field trips to Bay Area companies to get ideas and inspiration for future career possibilities. During fiscal year June 30, 2023 the organization provided 95 mentor & mentee matches on the Road Map to Your Future Program.
